Sony 4K camera with 3 2/3" chips

Interesting. Doesn't say what frame rate it can do in 4k? Has to have tiny photosites to fit that many on a 2/3" sensor - wonder if that means the lenses will struggle to resolve enough to do it justice?

If it's not meant for ENG, would that mean you can't hook up a battery to it or record straight to the camera or an external portable unit?

Yeah, this is for live events, like sports. It's not a camera you'd buy by itself. Big, live production trucks would buy several of these for their live broadcasts. It doesn't record internally.
I do lots of live sporting broadcasts. These cameras would be sweet to operate - but not to own.

No, it connects to a Triax cable from the production truck. The cable supplies all the power, and the camera sends the video/audio signal back through the cable.
I work with these cameras all the time. Let me tell you, I hate laying out Triax cables. Heavy, pain in the arse. Laying down thousands of feet of Triax makes you question your career choice.

I wonder if there'll be 2/3" 4K ENG cameras coming out soon? They obviously have the chips ready.
