Hey,

Looking for this sound like you see on Star Wars and Spiderman trailers. Any idea what the sound is called or where to get it from even if I have to pay for it?

I am trying to do my first trailer.

I probably have some sonic booms in my library but I wont be back in the studio till Wed. Basically its just an explosion at a distance with no debris. The real ones tend to be a bit soft. On line SOUND DOGS probably has some.

Oh and a lot of trailers are VERY hyped so if that is the kind of sound your going for really think in terms of layers. Find the "pop" you want and add explosions and such with something with an ungodly amount of bass in it. I know a few designers who have a real love affair with sub-harmonic synthesizers. Of course they are intending it for theatres that have real subwoofers, you may have to use some restraint for the home market.
