Song keeps lagging

I imported a song from my itunes library into fcp. The song plays normally in itunes, but in my timeline it sounds like it is lagging or can't keep up, so it stutters. This problem transfers over to when I compress it and watch the quicktime file.

Any clue as to what the problem may be?
