Son Of Kong

J.R. Hudson

Spirit Animal
SOme cool movie news from the kingiskong.net site is that SON OF KONG is already into pre-production with P Jackson and the Kong regulars. They'll be filming back to back so to speak. It looks fun and if Jackson does with Kong what he did with LOTR we're in good hands.

They make mention several times about the little hints that have been dropped during the video diaries leading up to thsi announcement and I'll be damned if in the latest diary he mentions films 2 and 3.

3?

Is that another subtle hint?

It would seem that he's found a formula that allows him to pound out an astounding trilogy relatively quickly.

Well, LOTR wasn't really all that quick, but KK seems to be speedier.

They're gonna do the matric and release 2 and 3 in the same year.

most people might not like the idea of it. It does seem a bit of a stretch right now but I guess we have yet to see.

the title of the 3rd one sounds promising.

I freakin' loved the attaching of the machine guns to kong and the animatics of Jack Black and company riding on his shoulders, laughed my ass off!!

Wonder how many people were convinced this was for real? They did a pretty good job of selling it, shows how creative they really are (doing motion control with Serkis' baby... priceless!)

Geez, look at how much weight he's lost.

bwahahahaha.. oh I am not ashamed to say that yes.. i am indeed laughing squarely at you john..... haha...

of course it is an April Fools joke..

hehe... you believing it made the video even funnier

I would have thought peter jackson putting "machine guns" on kongs back was proof enough...

and the characters riding Kong on its back.. also the crazy deformed creature with a nazi helmet :)

PJ is a tricky one...

I thought you could tell from when Peter's speaking. He's barely holding back laughter. A damn good April fools joke.

Honestly, when they were showing the 'mutant' creatures I was thinking "Huh?" but then thought "What do I know?"

Yeah, it took me until half way through to get the joke, but it was pretty great and surprisingly convincing. If it hadn't been April first I'd have just thought it was a bizzare choice.

I definitely got a kick out of the idea, though. I think they should make the sequels. I love over-the-top stuff like that.
