sometimes a nightmare shoot turns out pretty cool...

i was DPing a Big name Music Video, and the budget was low, really low.... From what i understood, all i had to shoot with, were 4 2k's, 4 4bank Kinos, and my two britek softboxes....

NO GRIP at all.... 1 ac/gaffer (same person) and oh yea... we had 4 hours to shoot it in... Hard out at 11 pm with a 7 pm Talent call.

Oh didi mention it was an all Green screen shoot... yea, thats right a 30' x 40' Greenscreen....

Then someone came to my rescue. My friends. I worked with an amazing Grip/Gaffer Todd Giresi, ( hire him hes awseome... NYC based) on a shoot a few months ago and i gave him a call. He showed up for a VERY cut rate... and worked with all the professionalism i could hope for.

Adam Chinoy, a friend and also a great gaffer, showed up for even less, and worked just as hard!

Then to top it off , my favorite AC/PA/Gaffer Phil Warren showed up. Hes just such a fast learner, and and well humored that he helped ease my anxiety on set.

The production studio who originally was not going to let us use the stuff in the studio, felt pity for us, and gave us EVERYTHInG we needed. 5k's, All the grip i could handle, and with my efficient and talented crew, we rocked out a music Video in Record time.

It felt GOOD. It was as though we had 10x the budget, and and the experinced crew to handle the work load. Without them i could not have done it.

Thanks guys.
