Hi, there is a part i dont understand in the juicedlink manual.

There is a mono and a stereo switch.
Mono : all mics are mixed together
stereo : XLR 1 is in the left channel, xlr-r is in the right.

The part i dont understand is as follow :
When the audio bracketing switch is turned on (Rpad), then the right channel is attenuated by about 16db. You would use this in the MONO setting, so you have the same signal going to both the right and left outputs. So if you blow out your main recording on the left, you have a backup that you can pull from in post on the right at a safe lower level.

I don't understand. If you use mono, its suppose to be mixed in both channel. Why do they say you can have a backup ?
thanks in advance

I think the bracketing is for input from one source. In bracketing it sends the input from that one mic (or one mixer output) to both L and R channels, but it's 16db lower on the second channel as a safety.
