some stop-motion fun

[grinner]

I've love stop motion animation since the mid 80s and today the boys and I busted out some coolness in the backyard with some action figures and some left over fireworks.

You, my friend, are a twisted individual. And I loved it. How many frames was that?

Nice love the effect of the fuse hahaha, nice!

gracias, fellas.
Doc, that was only 510 frames of stop-motion. There were some parts that were shot at 30fps and streated though. This was my boys' (12 and 9) first shot at animating stop-motion so things moved waaay fast at first. It was my first time experimenting with camera moves so I added speed changes in post in many places. I then ran the entire piece half speed.

All three of my kids got inspired after watching this finished piece. I have some armatures with skelitons made for this and magnetic feet so they can walk on hidden sheet metal. We'll be dustin' em off and moddin' em today.

OMG I use to own like 300 army men with tanks and carry vehicles. We use to play war by covering the army men halfway in the earth and then taking a rock and use that rock as a bomb. Person with most army men left hidden wins.

Dang, I want to play your way!
