Some stop motion for the holidays

What a magnificant, uplifting work. I waited, breathless in anticipation as the hands closed with the electric plug.

What outstanding vision and creativity. Beautifully executed. To say this piece is awesome is to do it a gross understatement.

I cant believe what I just watched. I hope this guy gets an award.

This was fantastic. You did so much with such simple elements, everyone on this board should watch this and learn.

Great great work. I too hope you win some awards for this. :)

Really nice.

What's the workflow for something like this? I know the principles of stop motion, but are you shooting it with a green screen or something so you can mix it with 2d animation?

Thanks a lot everyone! Funny you bring that up Ryan, I was very much inspired by that piece by Lascano and I'm honored that you saw similarities between the two.

Drew - yes we shot the clay characters in front of a green screen, if you look carefully you can see that some of the shots weren't the best keys and the characters are semi-transparent. So the basic workflow is this:

Draft a script, get the shot list down, make your characters/drawings, start building the scenes in After Effects, shoot the claymation, bring the pics into AE, we used premiere to edit the music and used the dynamic link to go back and forth between programs (what a timesaver!) It took just under a week from start to finish (a couple of those days were 24 hours long).
