Some screengrabs(non dvx)

Heya! Since I don't have a DVX100 and still want som C&C for my screengrabs, I put 'em here for you to see them and then critizize me to death ;)

This are just some grabs from a testscene I did with my fellow neighbour!

See if you can find out what the test was  :P

Thanx in advance!
And I just love this forum, it's always up on my screen when I'm at the computer working, playing games or editing ;)

Re: Some screengrabs(non dvx)

The last one is so dark you cannot see anything; the others are definately dark and underexposed (I personally like that; although these are a bit on the extreme).

I like the comps and the subject matter is intriguing.

Re: Some screengrabs(non dvx)

i can see the last one just fine dude. the guy with the gas mask on

Re: Some screengrabs(non dvx)

Thanx Hudson!
I was going for that mystic underexposed look...but as you said it became a bit too extreme!
My videomonitor and computermonitor aren't the best, but the moving picture look okey on the videomonitor. Maybe som calibrating will do? :)

And because I film through a 35mm stillcamera I lose a lot of light. That was the test.

Sorry for my english by the way, I'm just e poor swedish guy ;)

Re: Some screengrabs(non dvx)

A crappy Sony Handycam DCR-PC101E through a not working Canon 35mm systemcamera. That's why there is a big and annoyin sight all over the place ;)

My version of Mini35. Pretty much the Cheap Guirrilla way. :)

Yes, you may need to recalibrate your viewmonitor, , and if you're using the mini35 technique, you'll lose 1 or 2 stops.

Re: Some screengrabs(non dvx)

here some pictures of the "setup"!
Just curious if it would work, that's why the construction is a bit...eehumm...let's call it a prototype ;)

Re: Some screengrabs(non dvx)

I like the underexposed stuff too... But theses are a tad too dark.

Looks interesting though - Are we looking at some germ warfare goodies here?

Re: Some screengrabs(non dvx)

OK Rajko, now I get what you're doing.....interesting, I've never seen it done that way before

I don't see why it "wouldn't" work.......

Very interesting..... ;)

Re: Some screengrabs(non dvx)

Thanx a lot guys!
That really makes me all warm inside! :)

yeah I'm saving for the Dvx...but the new Dvx will probably come out before I get that money to buy the first :'(

But instead of sitting around and waiting I thought that I get out there and shoot as much as possible to learn the secrets of filmmaking with the small gadgets I have :)
