Some gear questions

Hi everyone,

I am DP on a short film coming up at the end of the month shooting on my HVX. From talking with the director it seems that this movie is going to need some gear that I haven't used before. Forgive me for being new and inexperienced, everyone has to start somewhere!

What piece of gear will make the depth of field go diagonally through the frame? I can't find any good shots of it right now, but this one has it: http://img156.imageshack.us/my.php?image=heroesip6.jpg . It's more apparent when there's another person in the back edge of the frame who appears sharp, in that shot it's just the corner of the room.

This will be my first shoot with HMIs. How much power do HMIs draw? Will 6K HMIs be enough to light an ext. day from say 10-20 feet away? I'll just need to be able to put up a frame and control the light through the day and kick highlights, etc.

Thanks in advance for your advice and opinions!

If this is a real grab, which I highly doubt, this is optically unlikely the effect you're looking for was done in post. I'd guess a 6K HMI draws 6k. Good Luck.
