How exactly did they do the writing at :26 to :30, seems like a pretty cool effect and also the type writer.

They have a green screen clip on top of their video. They keyed it out and change the color to black. It's really easy to do

as an alternative you could also do it with a stills camera like stop-motion animation locked off above a piece of paper. Take shots at regular intervals and key LUMA-KEY the white out and FILL the hand and text to black

That would work as well. The basis of that effect is basic green screen/luma compositing that is used a lot in videos. Try it yourself and see what you can learn. I've done this before on a few projects and taken it a step further
