Well I found a viable to solution to adding text on my fcp project that doesnt not pixelate.
Basically in motion I create the background I want etc. I then create a photoshop psd with the same image proportions, something like 2600x1733. I then drop my motion file into my timeline, layer the text over the top and add effects movement as needed to the text layer.
The result, beautiful smooth above HD text layered into my 720x480 project. Not sure if anyone else has an easier way, would love to hear if you do, but despite the messing around the results of this are perfection.
