Solid white in the canvas window...and a new user.

Hello all,

Long time lurker, first time poster...

So here is the setup. I was creating some simple titles over black in Final Cut HD and completed them. When I played the timeline everything was good except when I paused a clip. The entire timeline turned solid white. When I play the timeline everything is fine but I can't pause it without it turning all white.

I tried closing FC and reopen it but that didn't work. I even tried opening another project to see if it was a glitch in what I was working on but that didn't work.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this. I know it's going to be something very obvious that I just can't see it.

Thanks.

There’s a little drop down menu on the preview and play back window at the top that looks like a square [ ]. Click on that and it will list a bunch of different options. You need to change the Alpha option to RGB. That should fix the white problem. Also change white to black down at the bottom.

Actually, rereading your post this last item sounds more like the ansswer to your problem. I mistakenly thought you were saying that your clip was white in the timeline. Sorry about that.

I thank you as well... thanks to this forum you just saved me probably what would have been an entire night of tearing my hair out by a simple solution.

I wonder how the setting got changed in the first place.
