Solid State drive question - thanks for the help!

I mainly use PP and AE CS5.5 and my IT department just bought me a solid state drive (500Gb). Would i be better using it solely for a scratch disk or alternatively, partition it and install AE and PP on it and use the other partition for scratch?

Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

James, I think you leave many variables unaccounted for: What processor? What amt. of RAM? How many other drives?, What type and size of files do you typically work with?, et cetera.

But with/without all of that info I'd use that SSD for the CACHE for those two programs, And perhaps even put the programs on there too. But thats me and my work-flow.

There is plenty of room on those drives for many shooters, and not near enough room if you're processing RAW-Video.

Maybe a bit more info would help folks give more focused ideas.

I would use it as your primary OS/Applications drive, depending on how you work (hopefully you have two seperate drives: one for OS/Applications and another for data you work with).
