Solar eclipse equipment damage.

I can't believe some people would do this, look a the damage in the following article. Is this a case of "better risk rental gear than my own"

But don't they end up owning the rentals anyway? due to the insurance not covering this type of damage???

That was a very expensive day for some, by the looks of it!!

I would love to know the number of phones also destroyed by trying to film the sun that day..

I didn't think a lens iris would melt! I used 10 stop and 6 stop IRND stacked in front of the lens. No damage done.
