Software to analyze a video file's render settings?

I've received a file rendered from a prod company and I want to analyze how they rendered it. Right now I'm using VLC and doing Tools->Media Information. I'm not sure if this is entirely reliable though... is there something better out there?

This is on a Windows 7 system.
