So....I may have a HMVWW for 3-4 months.

A good buddy of mine is going overseas as an embedded combat photographer. And he has a full mil-spec Humvee, including turret and chicken plate.

Had dinner with him tonight, as he came out to California on a "whim".

Asked if I would be interested in babysitting his baby, with full privileges. Only caveat, I have to keep up on her service and fill her up. And take her up to my "candy store" to get her some missing parts. And I can keep the money I make on her (though I will be setting a percentage aside for him)

SA-WEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!

(You know, I am glad I said it was a Humvee. This could sooo be taken the wrong way)

This is only the top of it, but you get the idea.

Man, I love this. The move to up north has been put on hold for other reasons, so it sooooooooo works out.

LOL, this is a hint to So Cal film-makers. I ain't above a little self promotion. This is an asset I have never had before that is in my direct control.

Lollll at painting it pink

Niiiiice catch doc. Will you be actually allowed to drive that thing, since its a military vehicle? Or is it privately owned?

BTW, if I was an armorer and got a hold of a military humvee, you bet I'd be promoting the hell out of it, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, xenga, bathroom walls, wherever lol

Bite me on the pink paint! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a chance in Hades!

I will be allowed to drive it to and from and on set, LOL, already have, actually when I was in Phoenix. It is privately owned. Looking forwards to going to the local Jack in the Box drive-thru. Just to film the reaction. "Yeah, my turret gunner wants an order of egg-rolls. I wouldn't get the order wrong, if I were you."

Funny thing is, I got to be careful where I talk about it. Cant upset my normal contact for military vehicles. But rest assured, once it is here, I will be reaching out "underground" to all film-makers so they can take advantage of this "wind-fall"

Not sure how the bathroom wall thing would help...."You want a military Hummer.......call......" I don't think that would garner the 'right' calls. At least not ones about renting a military vehicle. LMAO!!!!!!

Ha! I wanna see that!
Srrsly cool asset anyways. If I was there I would write a script just to make use of this.
You got a rectilinear ultrawide? Post some stills of the interior !

LOL, barely know what a camera is. Just kidding. Once it is here, rest assured, I am gonna take pics of even the glow plugs. I am gonna have the best inventory of pics possible. But, it will be on my sad little Casio Exilim.

I'd at least do a short to take advantage of that "free talent"... with the current fest, the possibilities are endless. If that isn't a potential villain-mobile I don't know what is (or the secret vehicle of the protagonist who must face the villain?)

If I had kids in elementary school I would SO pick them up with that... knowing they'd be considered the coolest kid in school for the rest of the year :)

Possible fest-entry idea... Bob is an average [meek] guy. A salesman at the local Hummer dealer. Bob's been harassed by a neighborhood bully his entire life has his own kids who are now faced with the same fate, at the hands of the bully's spawn. Finally reaching his breaking point, Bob irrationally modifies his dealer ride into a full-fledged military machine... which he uses to finally deal with his nemesis.

The underlying theme is personal growth and transformation... Bob is changed from a meek, under-performing car salesman... into the strong and confident man he always wanted to be.

(think Mcfly vs. Biff from BTTF)

Obviously I'd take this in the direction of over the top comedy... and not dark... pretty much the feel of BTTF... where the harassment is stuff like bully's car knocking over trash cans... doing lawn jobs... stuff that's very annoying but not too serious (simply showing dominance)... and the revenge scenes would be stuff like shooting holes in the bully's above ground pool... or repaying the lawn job at the end... where the bully falls backwards to the ground as the driver of the assault vehicle jumps down in front of him, and it's Bob... transformed.

Just a few thoughts for you to kick around there... but if possible, I'd take advantage of that cool prop.

Wow, the real thing.
Not one of those gay, pimped-up gangsta-rapper jalopys.

Lucky dog!

Humvee envy, Frank

it's cool you get to use a humvee, but what happened to the audio job?

It's on hold. Not of my doing. And the timing was impeccable.

I always have a PLAN A, PLAN B, PLAN C.......etc. If the audio thing never comes to fruition and it dies...... I will continue with the AZ move, and expand Indie Arms. If this bill passes here, it will mean a lot more work for us, as much as I hate how it's gonna hurt low/no budget Indie film-makers.
