I met this guy at my sister's graduation who was filming the graduation with his Sony FX1 so of course I go over to him with my DVX and we start talking camera's. Of course I've only been able to judge footage from the fx1 from the net and have not been very impressed with Cineframe at all (except PAL 25). So I ask him if he uses Cineframe and how does it compare to 24p. He ran a video feed from his computer through a high definition TV monitor that was in the video department (he worked for the school).
I must say that after seeing Cineframe24 on a TV, I was quite impressed, it was as smooth as 24p, I seen no jerkiness, no strange artifacts and the image was sharp as sh*t. He said the difference with how Cineframe is captured has to do with Cineform which he stated pulls down a true 24fps from the 60 fields Cineframe24 method the FX1 uses.
I'm not saying the FX1 is a better camera than the DVX but Cineframe isn't what a lot of people described it as. I do believe that the FX1 lacks the look of film that the DVX naturally has but Cineframe looks legit. I know some have seen it in person and knock it, that's cool but I also can tell alot of people have knocked it without seeing it and the fact that Cineform wasn't always around is a BIG difference. All I can say is you have to see it for yourself, I'd say you'd have to have the eye of a God to be able to tell the difference between Cineframe and 24p when CF is captured correctly.
My 2 Cents........
