I havent used after effects, and motion is on my christmas list but I just used MAYA 6 to create the snow and am using a blue screen in the background then will composite in shake or final cut. Its some work but was hoping for a quick fix in final cut. If it works I'll post the scene. Thanks I check out that plug in. Thanks again Josh ;D

You should check out the plug ins from virtix. They have a snow one.

Why didn't you just render out your sequence with an alpha channel from Maya instead of a bluescreen, because that would give you a better (cleaner) way to knockout the background in FCP vs having to pull a key...

download SnowII10sec.mov.zip from my iDisk... load it in and change the composite mode to ADD. If you want it a bit slower and less snow dl the first one ... Snow10sec.mov.zip.

Works best if you've got a locked off shot, but you can keyframe it to move with the camera too.

Kai thanks for the tip dont know why I didnt think of that? Well as I was working in maya and of course had probelms in rendering came back to find the answer to my prayers. Thank you so much CaptM. I will post some scenes next week, and thanks to all the others for your help.
