Sneak Peak of what's coming from Cinevate

Don't do it! You have the technology and the know how, so why does your new rails go for raising the camera. Keep the camera low and raise the front end. Keeps the CG which is better for hand held and minimizes vibration. The platform look just isn't inherently a stable design. It also raises the viewfinder too high as well.

Give us a cheaper alternative to the Z riser.

Agreed 100%. I have altered the cavision, cinevate, and redrock rail systems many times just to attempt to get a work around without having to purchase the Z-riser but none of my contraptions have accomplished the same effect.

If you can design a riser for half the zacuto price then you'll be golden.

Every person who has used the new rails simply loves them...and this includes a growing group of very experienced cinemetographers. This system keeps the optical axis height at 85mm (for mattebox use), and have zero protrusion below the rails at any configuration. This design incorporates a shoulder mount option, and allows placement of the forward camera support in front of or behind the tripod mount with zero projection below the rails. This means 100% fore/aft balance and incredible flexibility in a rock solid design. I'd go out on a limb here (but we'll show you!) that these are the stiffest/lightest and most flexible rails on the market. You haven't seen our ENG mount option for this set yet ....

When and how much Dennis you told it'd be same day as the motor upgrade. I'm literally dying! At least tell me the ballpark price! Are they going up? Can you still get the old rails? I have questions!

This should help: http://cinevate.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2135

This change is actually directed towards our base plate system, but the rest is similar. Feedback on our solid carbon rods, the quick release Brevis-to-rails mount, and rails blocks has been overwhelmingly positive, so we're not changing anything there. The old base plate system will be an option until the parts are gone, then discontinued. Cost increases will be about $75, so still an amazing price point in the current market given our solid carbon rods and fully CNC machined component parts.

The rails kits will be shipping in about 8 days, with our typical lead times of 2-3 business days to your door. The Brevis35 MP.1 is already shipping, and a collection of folks got them this week already.

If you're at NAB and visit us at the B&H Photo booth, you'll get a chance to play with both the MP.1 and new rails mounted up with an HVX200, and XH-G1.

T, the start sequence is now controlled by the microprocessor to make sure that regardless of how you've tuned the oscillation properties (for example, much lower than we'd set it at), it will still fire up 100% of the time. We've basically taken everything we've learned, (and anything requested) after 2 years of making the Brevis adapter and made it part of the MP.1 feature set. Even the "left it on and ran the internal cells flat" scenario has been dealt with by an auto shut off feature. That point will occur after about 32-34 hours of constant running...and you'll get about 1 hours worth of warning via a blinking power LED.

Jon, all we're confirmed for right now is Tribeca in New York on April 29th. We'll be there with the MP.1 and hopefully a fully rigged Ballare Dolly with seats, new handle and "ground scraping" high hat kit. I'd love to the do the Cinegear show so we'll see if it's still doable once the dust clears from NAB.

The little rubber booty on the switch makes you want to keep touching it too. It feels so nice. I'm loving the rails.

Uh oh.... Kwan is going to bring an even larger wad of cash to dinner.
