I am planning on shooting a music video. My tentative plan is to play the track on the set to a speaker so that the musicians can sing/play along. I will also run the music into the DVX100. When I create a CD for the shoot, I have the ability to lay down a SMPTE time code track (audio could be on left and SMPTE on right).
If I were to run the music into the left channel on the camera and the SMPTE time code audio into the right channel --- can FCP4 and Cinema Tools do anything to interpret SMTPE data from an audio format or do any sort of conversion? Basically, it would be really snazzy for it to be able to take all my clips that are musical performance (not story) with the time code data and when I place them on the timeline it could tell me exactly where they go and I can adjust a frame or two if the musicians were off in terms of lip sync.
Any ideas?
