Smoothing slow mo pan from 24p footage

I shot a few pans that I really like but I ended up panning too quickly so I time remapped them down a little but since it is 24p footage it is not handling the remapping very gracefully. Are there any tricks in Premiere or After Effects to get a smoother slow mo at 24p?

As David mentioned, Twixtor is a great plug-in, but you have to buy it. If you're using CS3, try the included timewarp feature, selecting pixel motion will give you the smoothest results, but the longest render times.
