I am looking for some tested formulas for slow motion from progressive (30P or 24P) footage from the DVX that will translate best back to 29.97 display.
I read in Marucs Van Bavel's book that the only usable setting for 24P footage was 50%, but this is for film transfer and doesn't work well for output back to 29.97.
I tried 30P footage and at 50% it translates perfectly as a 1 frame to 2 frame split. But with frame blending it looks a litle fuzzy and with out it, it is a little notchy.
I haven't bothered playing with the footage in After Effects yet as I am trying to get as close as possible in FCP first.
