Newest Wii game, theres got to be some fellow gamer nerds out there who also play it, just curious if anyone has entered that Nation-Wide Smash Brothers tournament sponsered by Nintendo + Gamestop.. or hell whos your favorite character? ... My pick is Zelda... w00t
 
I played it a bit yesterday and thought it was cool. I think my friend is either already entered or will enter that gamestop contest.

My favorite smash bros character is Yoshi...though I wish Dry Bones was in it. I dont know what he'd do as far as moves go....
 
game pwns dude. most anticapated Wii game in a long time. im def enjoying Suda 51's No More Heroes at the moment though. Trying to rip through that then practice up for some Brawl parties.

good to see other Smash fans on here!
 
My brother's been buggin me to play it since Saturday... He's been playing it non-stop after work... Maybe I should give it a go but the last time I tried a smash bros game... there was no real strategy...

It just seemed like a button smasher...

I hope they changed that...
 
Its no Tekken where every frame of animation counts for counters and what not, but button mashers dont win in the long run in the game, hence why your bro is putting in work to practice, if it was a button masher, then he wouldnt be able to keep playing it. Depth keeps ya coming back for more. All the others were the same as well.
 
I want to pick it up soon, but I agree, it's not a button masher thing. Maybe you can button mash, but you need some strategy, reflexes, and just orientation. It can get crazy sometimes though.
 
i haven't tried the online friends mode yet, so i don't know exactly how it works, but we'll have to get a friends code list going so dvxusers can battle each other.

I would love to take you guys on... But on GT5 Prologue.

Pro Evolution soccer 2008 would be another option but, since the PS3 online mode suffers terrible lag, maybe not.
 
Dude, lets setup some vrs matchs here, put in some wii friend codes.. do a mini tourn lol, go zelda! rawr
 
I just played for a little tonight.

I was greatly disappointed. The single Wiimote controls are sloppy and clumsy. And how do you not take advantage of the Wii's most innovative features for such a huge title?

They won't be getting my $50 for this one.
