I understand that the image shown on my DP6 may not be exactly the same as what my GH2 is receiving. I'd like to know whether or not I can trust that the IRE reading in False Color Mode is correct, and can be trusted.
Note: the false color readings of the monitor can be trusted in general, but not necessarily when coming from a GH2! The GH2 outputs a very different signal when it's in pause mode, versus when it's in recording. You absolutely cannot trust anything you see when it's in pause mode. It's not the monitor's fault, it's the GH2's fault for sending out a bogus signal. Even when recording you can't necessarily trust it, because the GH2 outputs a slightly different image on its HDMI, versus what it records.
That's one thing about the GH2 that is truly agitating for me. After watching your Lighting DVD, I was really glad that while I didn't have Zebras or Waveform, I did have the False Color on the DP6.
