Smallest moving GG solution yet???

Well, the first production unit is built. It's too late, and I'm tired...pics tomorrow. Suffice to say when I picked up the CNC parts today I was simply stunned. To my mind, it's not just an adapter...it's man art. There are two minor changes the CNC programmers will need to make, about 2 minutes of CAD work.

For the real version or the beta?

V, this is the final version. Unless the sky falls in, there won't be changes made to it. It's way too expensive to tinker. I'm only calling them beta because I need macro specs on the DVX, HD100, and maybe the HVX before having achromats made.

There are always issues that come to light after you build one. In this case, the programmer deviated in what he thought was a helpfull way...and if folks only ever used Nikon mounts, it would have been great. Rather than "unleashing the hounds" it makes good sense to program, evaluate, test and revise. Changing the design to make it more manufacture friendly without optical compromises is part of the process. Fortunately the changes are super simple.

Looking at the final product, it appears that you HD100, HVX, and DVX users will really like the aesthetic. The rear aperture is large to accomodate the larger lens cams, and will almost match the DVX cam's outer lens barrel. My GS400 looks kind of wimpy back there.

Once you guys see pics, you're going to "poop your pants." Diaper up for tonight.

I'm glad I have a 9 month boy maybe he will share his pampers and wipes...

Sorry guys, some ISP issues tonight. Here ya go. This is the aluminum "in the raw". Powdercoating is an option, as I'm guessing most folks will prefer satin black. The interiors will be non-reflective either way. The final price is officially at $795US (adapter, charger, Pelican box) now that I know what the machine costs are.

Can we see some hi-rez picks?

What exactly will the powder coating change? Make everything black? How much will it cost?

It's beautiful....

V, they're lower rez for two reasons...bandwidth...and "patent pending" on my design. You will have the ultimate high rez version in 3D shortly. :)

Powder coating would only be applied to the aluminum (shiny) parts and would cover them with a very tough satin black finish. It's electrostatically applied, then baked on. I'm checking on cost.

oh yea quick question, is that on/off switch the final choice for the type of switch you will use? Personally I would prefer a rocker type switch. Sorry if im gettin a lil nit picky with it but I just think it kind of sticks out and can possibly get in the way.
