Smallest moving GG solution yet???

Brice..got it. Azboy, the first 10 will be priced at $540. The final version will priced higher...likely several hundred more.

The seperate flip module is likely a few months away, as I'm focussed on the adapters right now. Unlike the Letus, I will not integrate flip and adapter in one enclosure.

Are you going to sign the first 10 ;)

Is there going to be a big difference in teh next bunch after the 10? Do we get a beta discount on the upgrade if there is any?

Also where did you get the rod system?

I'm literally overwhelmed. The DVX community here has literally knocked my socks off with response to the adapter. This project would have been dead months ago without your support, feedback and encouragement. A humble thank you to all...and hopefully I've got all the email/pmail responded to.

The design for the final version is done in CAD, and not likely to change much at all. The only "upgrade" will be the flip module, but it's designed to work as an add on module. You're going to the love the final version. I have a meeting tomorrow with the CNC folks, so I'll have a good idea on final pricing for the adapter once the beta program is finished.

Arum, those rods are just a quick shop project with 1" Aluminum stock and 5/8" stainless rod. They're simple, and solid. If there's sufficient interest, I'll consider having them made.

Dennis,

Is the flip mode optional or will it come with all versions? Because usualy this means more light loss. I've been using a magnet and I really have no problem with that and with fliping the image on post. As for the kind words, I can only say I belive in what I was saying (like most here) and I belive you have a great product here. Apart from Dans' adapter, the G35, the M2 and the Technics adapter (which are all much more expensive) all other adapters display color aberration, barrel distortion, vigneting, softning of the image, a lot of light loss. Yours' doesn't seem to suffer from any of those flaws and for the price you are charging I think this is amazing. If you play the right cards I'm sure you'll become one of the rulers of the adapter world. I wish you al the luck. I am very curious to see the results on amazing cameras like the ag-dvx100, the FX1, etc. Hd specialy will be a chalenge since all imperfections become much more visible. But, in Guskers we trust ;-)

It is a rockin' adapter... also, how are you all flipping the footage in post? Just a filter? Does it reduce the resolution at all?

In post, you can "flop" in Vega, rotate 180, or do a vertical/horizontal flip in Premiere. VLC has a nice little transform filter you can set to invert/rotate your clips if you're just screening raw DV. You shouldn't see any generational loss, but you may need to reverse field order when you re-render your clips. I sold a set of rails that allowed mounting the camera upside down..my favourite method to date.

Rawfa, you will have the option of removing the flip module if you buy it. In other words, you'll have two pieces in your case...and you'll be able to choose to use the flip or not for a given situation. This is my design goal.

Cool, yeah i would want to find out about the rail setup you made too. I dont think i want to run around with the adaptor hanging off the front unless I really have to.
I cant wait to receive mine!!!
Progressive footage shouldnt have to be rerendered.
I think instead of flipping the camera over and shooting, Im going to just flip the sets and shoot normal.

Yeah, gives me a chance to try out my anti-gravity machine i have been working on.
Its not as advanced as these 35mm adaptors but I figured If shot something cool with it I can sell them here when they see the footage.

Maybe even someone will use it for their super hero to make him fly or something.

I had another meeting with the machine/CNC folks. The good news is that all of the Brevis35 parts are going to be CNC machined. That means every part will be better than .001" tolerance, and replicated to this accuracy. Once programmed, it also means very short turnover times.

We're right on track for shipping in four weeks. For the beta group, I'll be in touch in the next day or so.

Thanks!

:( I guess im not in the beta group... any chance of me gettin up on that?
