Smaller Proxies? Possible?

So I'm travelling light with my MacBook Air (i5 4GB etc) and with 1080p proxy footage it runs fine - and up to a point also fine with 4k footage if using proxies, however once a project gets a bit bigger with some color correcting etc, it does start to struggle (which I can't complain about)

From understanding Proxies, they are 50% smaller than the original media, so 1080p media becomes 960x540, where as 4k becomes 1920x1080 - can we customise the proxies so ALL proxies run at say 960x540 ??

To my knowledge, no.
FCP X generates Proxys at it's pre-programmed setup: ProRes 422 half size and lower data rate.
Why not raise it in the FCP X > Provide Final Cut Feed back link.
