Small Vegas tip....

Did you know that aside from the 10 key editing tools in Vegas, you can set up Vegas to always play XXX amount of time when you hit the "0" key on your numpad?
Go into Preferences/Editing, and in there, set a time in the Cursor Preview Duration. I recommend 5 seconds. Now, if you hit the "0" key on your numpad, Vegas will play 2.5 seconds before where the cursor is parked, and 2.5 seconds after the cursor current position.
Great for auditioning FX or audio edits.

Thanks for the tip. that's a good one. Here's one that I just learned. Highlight a clip, and 8 on the keypad moves the clip to the track above, or 2 on the keypad moves the clip down a track. No more moving clips with the curser and worrying about getting them out of sync.

Lost me there, Spot.

Park your cursor somewhere, anywhere, and with the numberpad turned on (laptops have a harder time with this, usually) hit the "0" key. If your system is set up to default, you will then see a 2 second selection appear, and it will playback within that 2 second selection.

HTH.

Pat, that key moving function is great. Did you know that using the 7 and 9 keys jumps you from event edge to event edge?

Ohhhhh, got it. Thanks. Also nice tip there as well, Filmmaker58 ... I've never cared for having to try & line it up exactly when moving to another track.

Another one I just started using. F-11 makes your dockable menus disappear/re-appear, giving you a full view of the timeline. These are all probably old and obvious to most, but I'm one of those guys who never reads the manual.
