Small sturdy case, carry-on airplane luggage size?

What is the smallest case or backpack you can carry a HVX without extras in?
Must be sturdy, meeting airline carry-on regulations.

What are the regulations?
I read somewhere 55x40x20 cm, but Kata sells 60x32x30 (23.6"x12.6"x11.8") as legal carry-on.

What is true? (I know you can always talk to them, but its good to know the rules to have more fun breaking em)




I checked the Kata product line and like the SHELL-03 HARD SHELL CAMCORDER CASE (they say it´s discontinued, B&H writes soon available?).
Is it big enough?

The Kata CC-193 seems nice, but is a little too long: 54cm interior size.
I `d rather have something with backpack straps also. The HB-207 seems a little too big.

The Pelicases are sturdy, but a waste of space (in height). A big otterbox would be nice. It could be put in a inconspicuous backpack.




Any suggestions?
 
We have the Pelican 1510. Hard, yes, but nobody is going to break it! :)
The best thing is it can carry everything you gotta have, minus tripod, and is supposed to be carry on sized for all airlines. Don't just check with one or two. They have different regulations.
Let us know what you go with as others will be asking this next week. :)
Oh yeh, it has wheels as well.
