Which of the small hand held HDV cameras are the best buy?
It seems a ton of people are using the Canon HV20 with adapters from what I have seen on a few boards.

Well I think the Canon HV20 is one of the best, smaller cameras. It has HD at 24p...it's a great little camera, but again it all depends on use. I used one on a shoot a couple weeks ago, attempting to match it with XH-A1 and it did okay. Granted I don't have the footage anymore as I didn't have to edit it, but it's a neat little camera nonetheless.

When I go backpacking through Europe, I think I'll pick one of these up if something hasn't come out to beat it by then. The HV30 is already out, but only offers 30p and a black finish as the differences I believe.

That's true - this year promises many new cameras and April isn't too far off.

Zak and I both used the HV20 for LoveFest.
You can check my signature (Music Box) if you want to have a look.

Mine is 100% stock HV20 footage, no adapters used.

People have also shot much prettier footage than I can.

Cheers,

Mike
