Small G5 Problem

Hey, I finally got a Mac to run FCP - a dual 2 Ghz G5. Pretty nice so far, but I'm having one problem. My Airport Extreme card is losing the wireless signal as soon as I put on the outer most part of the case. When the metal panel is off, I get a signal. When it's on, I lose the signal. The antenna is connected to the card inside. Any idears?

Are you referring to the external antenna that plugs into the back of the tower? If not, make sure you have it plugged in (it should have come with your G5).

Yes, make sure that you get the external antenna plugged in - it's a little T-shaped thing that goes into one of the top two ports on the back of the g5 - just like the powerbooks you have to some kind of antenna to get outside the aluminum...
Definitely one of the more overlooked pieces of the PowerMacs

What do you mean by "finally"? I run FCP 4.1 on a 400mhz G4 with absolutely no problems. Rendering sucks, but it's stable.
