small film festival-technical question

Hi,

I'm about to start organising a small film festival to promote the ideas of a non-profit org I work with, but was needing a little insight into technical considerations for projection. We aim to do a call entry to get a series of 10 minute shorts so I'm just wondering what would be the best format for entry & the most cost-efficient way for projection? We'll be based in New York but aren't using a cinema for exhibition.

DVD and projector would be your best bet. There is quite a range of projectors at different price points that could work.
 
You can get a projector that adjusts correctly for aspect ratio if needed. If properly encoded, the DVD player will correct for aspect ratio when playing.
