small cracked point in DVX lens

Hi!
I've just, stupidly, damaged my DVX lens. I've made a very small damage in the lens, the size of a pinhead or maybe a little smaller. Aparently there's no visual aberration that i've noticed in the tests i've been making but i don't want to have my "baby" like that.
Anyone knows how much costs a repair of that kind of damage or if it may be covered by the warranty as i've bought it less than 9 months ago? :embarasse

If I remember correctly, lens replacement is around $900.oo. But you should call a repair center and check.

Thanks for all replys guys!
I discovered the part of the image that has signs of the crack, its just behind the timecode in the lcd.
It looks like a grain of dust or a very small drop of watter, its only visible when a light source is at a angle that can get to the lens.
I guess i'll buy a UV filter and a large mattebox. I've already send a mail to the Panasonic dealer here in Portugal to have their opinion on this.

To prevent any further damage, I'd put a UV filter on there.

Better to replace a $25 filter than a $900 lens.

WORD!

I always shake my head when I hear people neglect to protect the front of their lens with a clear or UV filter. It's the least expensive insurance policy you can every buy and worth every cent!

Sorry you have a damaged lens. Hopefully your experience will help others learn.

Best to you.
