Small camera for tall stand advice..Sony AX100?

Hi all, I'm trying to figure out a camera to use for outdoor weddings (and well-lit indoor) that is small and light enough to put on top of a light stand approx 10' in the air. My original plan was to get a small HD camera and remote control it, but I havn't found a good solution yet plus many times I am shooting alone and leave the "stand camera" un-manned on wide as a safety cam.
Then I thought of a 4K action cam, but there are overheating issues so I can't trust it for long recordings.
So I am thinking about just getting a small 4K camera and leaving it wide. I can crop zoom in post.

I'm looking at this one, Sony AX100.

Or maybe this Panasonic, the HC VX981, will match better with my other Panasonics:

I'd be matching it with various other HD cameras at times such as Panasonic HMC 150, HCK10, AC 90A and Sony Action cams and NEX EA50 so I don't know how much work it'll take to match. Obviously it's a lot higher res than all those cameras.

Any ideas?

I do a similar setup for wedding ceremonies and receptions, along with events that require a high wide angle. I use my c100 on a 10' Impact light stand with a small manfrotto head and a sandbag.

Thanks guys!
Yeah a GoPro (or similar) is a great idea, and I've been using HD action cams for several years....but for 4K they all seem to have issues when trying to record 4K for longer durations...overheating, dead batteries..
