You may have heard me complain about making small cables like 3.5mm. I've never liked the bent metal strain relief. Then I came across glue hot shrink tubing, which I had forgotten about. I feel like I have more reliable cables using two bits of adhesive-lined heat shrink. I put one bit over the wires and one bit over the shroud and cable. The glue bonds to everything around it. With the two bits, I think I have a significant improvement in the soundness of the mechanical strain relief on these small cables. You can see a bit of glue peeking out the end of the heat shrink tube.
