small but annoying problem

hi

just recently final cut pro starts giving me that:

in front of the playhead every time i try to mark in or out...
and it affects my working habits since it's one frame and whenever i pull the playhead to snap somewhere, it gives me that one more frame every time...

does anybody know what that thingie is and how to turn it off?

there is nothing wrong with that....

the arrow is at the start of the frame and the shaded area is the duration that the frame is displayed. that whole shaded area is just that one frame.
