Sluggish...

[Chris Santucci]

I'm having an annoying issue with FCP 4.5 on my 1.8 Ghz (single) G5 with OS 10.3.9 and 2.25 GB of RAM:

The play head is "sluggish".

When I hit the space bar to make the play head stop on the timeline, it doesn't stop instantly as it did when I was using an older version of FCP on my G4 with system 9.2.

This is especially annoying while working on music videos (as you might imagine.) It does this regardless of the number of tracks I have open.

Any help would be appreciated.

It is an annoyance. I agree.

Does it on a g5 dual 2.0 all the time. So far my MacBook Pro with 5.1.2 is fine (fingers crossed).

What format are you editing?

For me, it's minidv at work on a G5 Dual 2.0, FCP 4.5, that has the issue. At home it's DVCProHD 720p on my MacBook Pro, FCP 5.2.1, with no problem.
