slowmo 30p in 23.98 sequence

allright, so I've heard about shooting 30p and slowing to 80% in a 23.98 timeline for somewhat smoother slowmo.... So how do I do it?

When I drop the 30p footage into the 23.98 sequence I get that strobey motion every once in a while. So how can I use those extra frames to get smoother slow mo?

all that i do is just open the clip up in cinema tools and use "conform..." to just sort of retag the clip to be played back at a frame rate to 23.976. now the clip won;t need rendering and will just be played back at a slower frame rate in FCP.
