SLow Renders on new Computer :(

Alright, i am a little disappointed at the moment because i just recieved my new mac pro quad core 3.0 and my render times are not what i expected. I have been comparing some rendes between my new mac pro and my old dual power mac, and my power mac has been keeping up..... Is there anything i can do to get those render times a lot quicker??? I was sure what setting i could use with the memory and cache. i was hopeing that long renders where going to be history haha.. HElp is appreciated and all suggestions welcomed! thanks!

How much ram have you got in the mac pro? I have found the mac pro much faster. What brand of footage are you editing? DVCproHD, DV, HDV etc?

It is dv footage and i have 4 gb's of ram. are there certain setting that i can changed to speed up the render times?

Sorry, another question. What type of renders, timeline or Compressor?

IF it's compressor output then you can speed it up quite a bit by using "virtual clustering"
