Slow no Sound HD DVD play back

I purchased a HD DVD player today. They are $300, so I took the plunge.

I exported from compressor using the H264 HDDVD 60 minute preset.

I then brought the file into DVD studio pro and created a HD DVD.

I burned the DVD on a standard DVD burner.

It plays back on my HD DVD player, but it is in slow motion and there is no audio.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

My original Final Cut Pro project is 720p 59.94.

Is that the wrong frame rate?

If so, How do I fix it?

Thanks!!!

Update:

I took compressor out of the equation and just exported a self contained movie from Final Cut Pro.

I then brought the mov file into DVD SP and let it do the HD DVD encoding.

I then burned a HD DVD with a standard DVD.

It plays back properly now (video wise), but I get no audio.

How do i fix that?

I currently get audio from the HD DVD player via optical out to my surround sound system.

I'm in a jam because I am making this DVD for Sundance and I need to make sure that when they view it, they get proper audio and video (or I've wasted my time).

Thanks!!!

Note: The video quality is pretty good. It's nice to watch my stuff on a big HD TV away from my edit suite. I hope I can figure out this no audio problem.

I am trying another test. I used compressor again. This time I picked the MPEG2 HD DVD setting (with all of the audio options).

It spit out a file.

DVD SP would only allow me to import the MPEG 2 movie and the Dolby 2.0ac3 file. It did not take the AIFF file.

I am burning a DVD now. I'll keep you updated.

getting ready to try and do the same thing (not for sundance though) - if you are using a toshiba player I believe you cant do h264, only mpeg2. Keep us updated. You may want to look into what Sundance is playing back with to ensure its compatibility. I'd toss in a normal sd dvd too just in case.

THIS IS FROM THE SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL:

Ideally, films should be submitted to us on a single DVD, packaged in an industry-standard, 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" plastic DVD case (the same type that most retail DVDs are packaged in). DVDs must be compatible with standard set-top DVD players-- do not simply burn a quicktime or AVI file to a disc as data. Please ensure that your disc plays in a standard DVD player before you mail it to us!

As of this year, we are now equipped to view high-definition discs in HD-DVD format only. We do not accept Blu-Ray discs at this time.

I gave up on creating the HD DVD with my old G5 and DVD SP 4.0.3.

I borrowed my friends brand new Intel Mac with the latest version of DVD SP AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY!!!

My movie looks and sounds great on HD DVD.

I was going to wait to buy a new mac until they had either HD DVD or Blu Ray burners in them that could create those types of DVD's that will play in consumer players. Is that happening anytime soon? I thank that I want to go in the Blu Ray direction.
