Just wondering any tips to get the best slow mo possible with this camera using FCP. I understand its not gonna be a perfect situation but this is what I have and would much appreciate any ideas, thoughts, or tips on what I could do to maximize the effect.
thanks beyond reason in advance.

well if you're looking for a sleek, smooth looking slo-mo with hardly any jitters or pixelation... and your primary workflow is 24P... your best bet is to shoot 30p for that particular scene or shot you want in slo-mo and slow your clip down to 80%. thats the best look and speed for a 24p workflow.

for more slow-SLOW motion... another option is to shoot interlaced... 60i and shutter speed at 1/120 to manipulate more of a film look and slow your clip in your sequence timeline down to 40%. this is super slow-mo and you can also apply this to a 24p workflow. the interlaced picture will be softer... but the slo-mo will be smooth.

Hi I'm quite new here in DVXuser. I'm a student filmmaker here in the Philippines. :) I've been using the DVX100B since 2006. But never had I tried the slo-mo. Um, I'm shooting a music video this weekend. I want to know is would I still be using the same technique (60i, 1/120, then slow down to 40%) if I wanted to achieve an effect where the vocalist is in sync with the song while the other band members are in slo-mo? We plan to speed up the song during the shoot, so that the effect can be achieved in post. I'd like to know the best possible settings I could use. Oh yah, the music video will be done under a 24P workflow. :) Please help. Thanks!

Shoot at 30 interlaced and then interpolate the lines with a 50% percent speed reduction. That will give half the speed but with a nice motion.
The downside is that the vertical resolution looses half their lines.
