Slow Motion Settings?

Hey all,
I am using a DVX and Letus35 Extreme for a film shoot and wanted to get smooth slow motion shots of two characters running through the sprinkers in Summer time. I want to shoot it normal speed and them slow it down but to my knowledge, the 24fps has to be off (so it doesn't jitter and is more smooth without it?) ??? Anyone have experience with this?
 
So it looks fine with 24fps correct? Someone told me to make it non-24fps which I figured would look a little "too video".
