slow motion options

Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've been up to speed on this technique. I haven't needed slow motion in years.

At the time people were slowing down their 60i (or 60p, don't remember) footage and conforming it to 24p in order to get slow motion. I do remember a discussion that doing so actually cause a reduction in resolution and some other artifacts. Was that because they used interlaced footage? Does recording 60fps and conforming to 24p cause anything issues?

Of course at that time the HVX200 finally brought affordable true slow motion capabilities. And since then the Ex1 & Ex3. Do using these cameras truly capable of over-cranking look better than shooting 60p (I assume not 60i) and conforming to 24fps?

I need to shoot slow motion for a shoot next week and am giving my coordinator some advice on options. All I have is a 5DmkII and an HV20 (got rid of the DVX and Z1u) so either way I'll probably have to rent something. Unless I can do this with my HV20.

What are my options for cameras? I understand I could also use twixtor. What are my options if I plan to slow down in post? This needs to look professional.

THANKS!

if this has been covered recently would someone please direct me? I tried searching but am not coming up with anything
