Slow Motion but Lip Synced Music Video Technique

There is a plugin I think called Twixtor where you can speed up or slow down your video but keep lip sync all matched up. A friend of mine has it and will be using it on his next music video. I am eager to see the results of his shoot.

really.. that sounds crazy and impossible. i dont believe u!

jk. but i cant wrap my head around how u could keep the lips in sync without the method discussed in this thread.

I haven't used this yet so I a can't really comment on this. Like I mentioned, I have a friend that has this plugin and will be using it on his next music video.

Watch the DEMO VIDEO on that link above. Notice how some of the shots are slowed down and some are sped up then take notice to one of the guys singing in real time.

For anyone interested, I have completed editing that music video I used the slow mo technique on. It's not the WHOLE video, only some parts. It's not as easy to tell, you pretty much have to watch for the singers hair blowing in slow motion, but it's there.

I plan to use this technique again, now that I know it works, on a house party music video, so that's more obvious people are in slow mo (dancing), and to do the ENTIRE video in that way.

Worked out nice!

Hey like I said the slow mo effect was only used in parts of the video, not the whole thing or anything. An example of it could be at 2:01 - 2:08. :)

If your friend knows what he's doing, that video is gonna look sick! I just couldn't ever figure Twixtor out. Bought it and it's sitting here collecting dust...

I'm about to shoot a similar music video, and we're using the Canon 7D at 60pfs. I plan on conforming the clips to 23.98 in Cinema Tools. How fast should I adjust the song to for on-set playback?

Dammit, was gonna shoot using this method for a rap/hip hop music video but sped up 100% (50p to 25p) the lyrics are way to fast for the vocalists to perform.
I thought of going 30p down to 25p for a 25% slowdown but my Canon 550d doesn't support a 30p frame rate.
:-(

Any workarounds anyone can think of?

Maybe 50p to 30p could work?
How do I do the math for that so I know how much to sped the song up by?
