Slow Motion: 16mm vs. Video

If I were to shoot some 16mm film, and had it transfered to miniDV, how would it look slowed down compared to video shot in 30p or 60i?

Would the film look better, or the video?

Better than what ?

Are you looking to slow-down 24fps in post ? Does the 16mm camera have framerate options (Say 32 or 48 fps) ?

At the end of the day; I'm thinking the 16mm is going to look sweeter.

Sorry, about that.

24fps film Vs. 30p or 60i.

are you shooting 16mm shot at 24fps ?

if you do slo-mo in post - i prefer the pull down removed and then set project to 23.976 progressive and then slo down = it will double frames .. if you do not remove pull down then slo- mo will double fields ...

Apple's Shake uses Optical Flow technology and produces some excellent slow motion. Don't know what your budget is, but I thought I'd throw that out there.

But you're probably better off just shooting slow motion in-camera if you can and not bothering yourself with extra post work.
