Slow Mo

Any thoughts... I'm shooting 24p (one day with a pipe dream to film blow up) But do I have shoot in interlaced, what frame rate is best for this? Thanks

Re: Slow Mo

If you're shooting progressive mode and know you'll be doing slo mo effects, shoot 30p over 24p. It is incrementally smoother. 60i would be your best bet for slo mo effects if progressive mode is not important. Test all three modes on your NLE.

Re: Slow Mo

Shooting 30p for slow-mo in a 24P timeline is a good idea if you're doing a minor slow-mo effect (ideally, frame-for-frame from the 30P) BUT -- if you're going for significant slow motion, like 50% or 40% of the frame rate, I've found that shooting 60i gives a much better result. Sure it's a little softer, but the slow motion looks like SLOW MOTION, rather than the jitter I'd get using 30P slowed down 50%.
