Slow mo with the AF100

When I shoot at a higher frame rate with a GoPro say 60 fps, FCPX does as expected, it auto conforms the footage and when I drag a 60fps clip onto a 30fps storyline/timeline the clip doubles in duration as expected.
But when I shoot with an AF100 in VFR mode say 60 fps and drop that footage onto a 30 fps timeline... it just seems to treat it as 30fps the duration remains the same
What am i doing wrong...and yes its definitely 60fps from the AF100

VFR in the AF-camera bakes slowmotion into 24/25/30p so the NLE will only see 24/25/30p. If you do want to shoot true 60p you can do it in 720p or buy the upgrade to get 1080p up to 60p and that will display as 60p which you then can run at half speed if you like. You can ofcourse use the VFR and run it faster in your NLE to achieve normal speed and go to real speed when you need slowmotion. Note that VFR does not record audio but 720p60 does or if you get the upgrade it does 1080p60.
