Slow mo options...60i method?

Hi all,

Nikon D90 owner, thinking of jumping ship to a GH1. Some questions I wasn't able to find the answer to in reviews and forums:

Question 1:
I've read that the 1080p is wrapped in 60i somehow, I don't fully understand how this works, but would it be possible to use the 60 fields to create slow motion in After effects like some do with for example a Canon XH-A1? Or does the GH1 not create 60 fields, but just called that way in the wrapper for some reason (which then again, I don't fully understand)

Question 2:
Also, I live in a PAL country, but would like to have 60p to have extra slow mo to 24p (250% slow mo) rather than 50p to 25p (only 200% slower)
Is this advisable or not? Playback on a TV i can imagine, but 24p from my Nikon D90 seems to be fine, and most TV's can accept both PAL and NTSC signals I think? Don't know if that is true for HDMI connections?

Thanks!

1) No, definitely not possible. But you can use the 720/60p mode to get exquisite slow motion.

2) Over here in the USA, few TVs can accept a PAL signal and our DVD players can't play PAL discs. Over there, it's a different story, PAL DVD players seem to have no trouble playing NTSC discs. So you may be able to get away with using the NTSC unit, but it's a gamble on your part.

Unless, of course, someone in a PAL territory is currently using an NTSC cam and can relate their experience...

Does anyone know if Panasonic will produce a Camera (say GH2 or GH3?) capable of handling 1080i (60i or 50i)?

Every camcorder they make supports 1080i. Just not the VDSLR series. Yet. Who knows but it seems likely that when the technology is advanced enough, they will add 1080i as well; they do it on all their other cameras.
