Slow Mo Ghosting

BTW--- I have been meaning to post this for ages it is probably old news for most people but When rendering slow mo with HDV you might see some ghosting or double vision with HDV files.

totaly disable resampling on all HDV files. motiont may not be as smooth but better than ghosting.

Are you deinterlacing when you do this? Ghosting is what usually happens when you use "Blend fields" for your deinterlace method but have a lot of motion.

depending on how much you are slowing ..
if you have the vegas preview window set to preview/good set the TL so you can advance one frame at a time ( just hold down arrow so if goes thru frames quickly) ... then do the same but set preview to BEST ( now it will force a resample ) .. you will see a slight difference between the slo-mo's ...
if you like the BEST preview then render using BEST ... if you prefer the preview/good then render using GOOD ...

Preview doesn't affect render settings, but it allows you to see what will happen in the various modes.
one recipe if you have fast motion and this happening, is you can duplicate the track, set to deinterlace, and off set the two tracks by half a frame. This *can* cause some weirdness if you're not careful, so be careful. :-)
